This means it strives for meticulous historical accuracy while immersing the player in a world rich with mysterious places, magical creatures, and ancient mythology. **The player assumes the role of Velia**, a young woman and daughter of the *Lucumon *(king) of the Etruscan city of Manthura. At the beginning of the game, something terrible happens—and Velia becomes an outcast, hunted by her own fellow citizens. Gameplay is heavily focused on story and investigation. The player must uncover what has happened by: Talking to various characters, engaging in dialogue with choices that influence the story. Exploring different areas and solving labyrinthine paths. Retrieving key items necessary for progression. Defeating some enemies, but also avoiding the fellow citizens that are hunting Velia. On one hand, the player can expect varied gameplay that alternates between investigation, exploration, dialogue, and action. On the other, we aim to keep game mechanics simple and accessible, so players can immerse themselves in the story without needing to learn complex controls. Each character Velia encounters has a personal backstory, adding depth and richness to the narrative. Following the tradition of ancient Mediterranean legends, humans do not wield magic—it exists only in the mystical creatures they meet and in the natural world around them. Rasna strives for meticulous historical accuracy while immersing the player in a world rich with mysterious places, magical creatures, and ancient mythology. Rasna is designed for players who love story-driven experiences, historical settings, and meaningful choices. The player assumes the role of Velia, a young woman and daughter of the Lucumon (king) of the Etruscan city of Manthura. At the beginning of the game, something terrible happens and Velia becomes an outcast, hunted by her own fellow citizens. **Choices have consequences.** The game can end prematurely in 14 different ways, or reach the story’s conclusion through three distinct endings. Dialogues require continuous player interaction and offer numerous choices. This makes it impossible to tell which decisions will truly affect the story, and which simply help define the personality you wish to give the protagonist. To improve immersion, side quests are fully woven into the main one and are intentionally indistinguishable from it. Choices made during these missions can directly influence the outcome of the story. Each character Velia encounters has a personal backstory, adding depth and richness to the narrative. It is up to you to decide whether to explore a conversation in depth or bring it to a close more quickly. **Gameplay and Combat System** Our goal is to offer highly varied gameplay: exploration, investigation, dialogue and diplomacy, combat, stealth, and the challenge of finding your way through complex environments. As the story unfolds, you will find yourself in very different situations, each requiring a distinct approach. At present, the combat system is still in development and not yet available. The Early Access release will only take place once the combat gameplay is ready for testing. Combat philosophy: in our pursuit of maximum immersion, our goal is to create a combat system that is highly intuitive and focuses on tactical awareness and the ability to read the situation, rather than mechanical complexity. **Historical Accuracy vs Fantasy** According to ancient Mediterranean legends and mythology, humans do not possess magic. However, there are magical creatures they may encounter, and a spiritual world that influences the forces of nature around them. As the protagonist of an Etruscan tale, you will occasionally encounter magic and magical beings. They may be allies, neutral presences, or enemies, but you will not gain access to fantasy powers like fireballs, lightning bolts, etc. Rasna is not “Etruscan” only in its aesthetics. In its own way, it aims to let players experience the world as an Etruscan might have seen and understood it. The game takes place in an actual 3,600-hectare (9,000-acre) geographical region, recreated as it might have appeared 2,500 years ago. All the major archaeological sites in this area have been recreated in the game. The world is entirely handcrafted. No areas are procedurally generated. **About the developers** Rasna is developed by a team of only two developers, Matteo and Lorenzo, with the support of a few friends, volunteers, and a composer.
